CEC 20 held its monthly meeting last night at the District 20 Office. Thank you to all the attendees, both virtual and in-person! Your active participation and contributions are much appreciated! Notable topics discussed at our meeting include -
Report of Superintendent Pretto
Dr. Pretto introduced CEC 20s new student member, Ryan Li. Currently attending John Dewey High School, Ryan is a former D20 elementary and middle school attendee. As CEC 20s first student member in many years, we look forward to working with him. Dr. Pretto also provided an overview of the District 20 team and highlighted the districts goals and action plan aligned with the chancellor's priorities.
Resolution 1 - Calling for Restoration of After-School Funding For District 20 Schools
Various schools in District 20 did not receive necessary funding to maintain existing levels of after-school programing for the upcoming academic year 2024-2025. CEC 20 approved a resolution that seeks to understand why the funding was pulled and to ultimately restore the funding.
CEC 20 Participation at Asian American Traditional Culture Parade
Various members from CEC 20 will participate in the Asian American Culture Parade hosted by the Better Brooklyn Association on September 8th.
